Problem: The purpose of this experiment is to determine whether or not landscaping is energy efficient in both warm and cool weather.
Hypothesis: The researcher hypothesizes that the house with the smaller shrubs will make the inside temperature higher than the other houses. In the cooler weather the researcher hypothesizes that the house with the white rock will be warmer.
Results: As a result of the experiment the hypothesis was proven partially correct. The hypothesis stated that the house with the white rock would have a higher temperature than the others. The house with the mulch was actually higher in temperature than the others.
Conclusion: In conclusion, the hypothesis was proven partially correct. The house with the mulch had an inside temperature that was higher than the others. So the research proves that if you take the time and money to invest in some plants, trees, or some kind of ground cover you could save money in the long run.
