Biomass Powers our Factory
Event Location: Orange County STEM Saturday
Competition: Energy Inspired Art
Division: 3-5
School: Thornebrooke Elementary
Team Name: CHEESE WIZARDS!!!!!!!!!
Project Name: Project Oranges are our fuel
Team Size: 3
Our factory produces cheese and it has been running off of coal, BUT we decided that we wanted to be better for the environment. We started growing oranges and heating them for biomass fuel. The great thing is that the carbon dioxide that the burning oranges make is captured and used to help grow more oranges, which turn it into oxygen. The energy from the burning oranges powers a generator that powers the cheese factory.
This is our whole factory.
This is the greenhouse with our workers, Jimmy and Andtimmy.
The oranges fall from the greenhouse onto a conveyor belt.
This is the furnace.
These cheese cannons are what our factory produces.
Check out this video where we explain how we used different materials to make this masterpiece.
