Hello! We go to Ocean Breeze Elementary and our names are
Lyrric G. – Felicity S. – Colton M.
We are all in 4th grade
We chose the hamster because Lyrric has one.
Please know that this is a prototype of what we would build for customers. We used materials we had in our classroom. The sides would be made from the thick plexiglass, cut to fit, and glued together with aquarium sealant. The hinges would be made of metal and the lock secured with screws not tape.

This is our hamster water bottle made of a plastic bottle with a straw and marble for the tip. It is useful for the marble helps keep the water from falling out of the bottle. The walls we have are made out of recycled plastic and have holes for air ventilation. We have a solar powered heat lamp. Because of the hole/handle it is able to be solar powered. The hamster wheel is made out of a ribbon roll frame and popsicle sticks. The hamster toys that were handsomely made by our very own Lyrric are very helpful. The tunnel made of race car tracks to the top floor was going to be thrown out, so we decided to use them for the tunnel to the second level. With the second level it gives more space for the hamster. In other words, it is an amazing idea for a hamster cage. Our hamster cage is made of plastic, tape, and hot glue. The hot glue is not harmful to the hamster, but it can cause a stomachache if the hamster eats it. This is made out of all repurposed material. As you see the fake grass is on top of the bedding that is for when you clean it the hamster has something to be in instead of just hard floor.
We were not able to put Lyrric’s hamster in the cage but Lyrric thinks he would like it.
We didn’t have any help.

You all did a great job, I think any hamster would love to live in the habitat you created.
Great job repurposing materials in your classroom! This is a huge cage for a hamster, I am sure they would love having all of this space. Very thoughtful to use solar to provide a heat lamp!
