I love school, but what can I say?
Renewable energy’s far from my brain.
What is it? What can I say?
I don’t know much about it, it’s far away.

Is it light? Or is it wind?
Is it the chill from the grid?
Do I know what to do?
I’m only 9, and I have no clue.

But maybe…
Just maybe…
It’s that and this—
Wind energy, light, and heat, we can’t miss.

Maybe it’s sources,
Like solar or nuclear plants.
Maybe it’s natural energy,
Like heat and light, all turned into paths
That power our lives.

Maybe THAT!
That’s what renewable energy is—
Natural things that power us,
Far beyond what we can imagine.

Renewable energy powers our life,
All the way to the end of time.
To the end of what’s old,
Maybe we’ll make even more.

More ways to use renewable energy,
To expand our time
On this beautiful planet,
And save it from harm.

Like the harmful fossil fuels
That poison our lives,
Take them away,
Send them to Mars.

Maybe even farther,
To Jupiter or Neptune,
I don’t want them here,
And neither should you.

For I’m only 9, and I know

Renewable energy can change the world.
