Solar Boys™️

By Robert, Landon, Ari, Ozzie, Ozzie and Landon did most of the innovations and mostly created the solar oven while Ari and Robert did most of the work on this webpage came up with food ideas and figured out how to make them. We are in 5th grade at Ocean Breeze ES.

Our solar oven is made up of two boxes , works in a way that flaps can move around to be reflecting sunlight into pan, some reflector panels all glued together and used to have glass all around pan but were later removed because even after we hot glued the glass to the pan it would fall off randomly. In order to heat up the food the sunlight will reflect off of the panels onto the food so it can heat up or cook whatever is in the pan. There are pictures below of our oven.

The solar oven we made has a black pan so it can absorb heat to make it hotter so we can cook more.

Menu

Mac & cheese

Mac & cheese ingredients

4 oz of precooked macaroni, 1/4 cup of butter, 1/2 cup of sharp shredded cheese, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 10 small sausages, 1/4 cup bread crumbs, 1 pinch paprika.

Apple Stuffing

Apple Stuffing ingredients

5 apples worth of thinly sliced apple slices, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/2 brown sugar, teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 2 tablespoon butter, 1/2 cup caramel (cut in quarters per peace) and 1/2 cup pecans ( drizzle on top)

We were not able to cook our food. We forgot to bring the food to school. Sad.
