We created the Green City to inspire others to think about the possibilities for future city building. In the video below, we will explain the creative use of materials we used in the making of this model.

The hydroelectric dam is made from a variety of materials including a blue, plastic bag for the water, a wooden block for the dam, and a DC motor for the generator. The step-up station is made from a cup painted orange with string running from it to represent the powerlines. If a city is built near a river, hydroelectricity is an excellent renewable energy source.

The power plant is made from wooden blocks, and the sign is made from dominoes. Power for the entire city is made here.

Another source of renewable energy is biomass represented here by our tree made from folded paper. The spray paint was added to the blocks for artistic effect.

Dominoes were also used to represent solar panels another great renewable energy source especially here in Florida!

We added a statue to represent the freedom we have. The statue is made from twisted yellow tape.

Capturing wind from a flying airplane is an original idea we had for powering buildings. The landing pad is covered in a fun pattern highlighted by the surrounding lights.

The neighborhood sits on the banks of a lake with a beautiful fountain in the middle of it. The houses and cars are made from stacked dominoes. The lake is a plastic bag, and the fountain is made from pipe cleaners stuck into a plastic cube.

The parking garage was created from many different materials. A cardboard box was used as the base to hold up the second floor made from wooden blocks, more cardboard, and balsa sticks.

It is really fun to look inside the garage at the cars. The LED lights shine on the silly faces we drew on the front of the dominoes.

We feel that every city should have a community garden. We made ours by coloring on small, metal bits.
Below are pictures of all the other buildings we constructed to make our city complete.

In the following video, we will explain the science behind the art.
