Hi, I am Mila. I’m in 3rd grade at Ocean Breeze Elementary

I learned about ghost nets and how sea turtles get trapped and die. I decided to write a poem and then display it in a different way.

I made the turtle out of masking tape and then put paper mache over the tape. When I painted it, the paint would come off in water so I had to put in a baggie.

This is my poem:

Fish Nets

Fish nets is a thing fishermen use almost everyday.

But it gets in the ocean by flying away.

Many animals get stuck turtles, fish, crabs, and more.

We need to help it’s our chore.

Fish nets float in the waves

Fish get stuck and float down cause that’s how it behaves.p

Other fish eating all around.

This monster of the ocean killing fish by the pound.
