First ever solar car! Side view: Innovation = Started with a balsa wood blank from Pitsco. Cut of excess wood to save weight. Used a water bottle top to hold the ball.
Front side: Innovation= angle of panel helps with aerodynamics and can be adjusted with the angle of the sun.
Top view: Motor gear 10 tooth and axle gear 40 tooth for torque to get the car moving. We have not soldered the battery start/stop button, that’s next. We will place the battery start/stop button on the left side of the chassis and move the battery box forward for better weight distribution.
Bottom view: Mark your axle lines before you cut the car. Not a fancy car but it runs fast. After testing a few times, we learned a lot about this type of vehicle. We are still testing and plan on a few modifications to be ready for Cocoa.
